I.
To thee, incarnate God, I tune the Lyre,
My voice & harp, & cittern all conspire,
To sound the glories of th' eternal Son,
Plac'd near the Father, on the eternal Throne.
II.
Begin, O lute! to move thy golden strings,
While heaven's high arch with love and vict'ry rings;
Sing at the fractur'd powers of death & hell,
How Jesus conquer'd and how Satan fell.
